Ortho Development Hosts the 2026 Wasatch Hip & Knee Arthroplasty Course

On May 8, 2026, Ortho Development was proud to host the Wasatch Hip & Knee Arthroplasty Course at the S.K.I. Lab in Salt Lake City, Utah. Designed as an education program for emerging surgeons, the course brought together an exceptional group of faculty and attendees for a full day of focused learning, collaborative discussion and hands-on experience.

The course faculty represented a distinguished group of surgeons specializing in adult total hip and total knee arthroplasty. Zachary D. Post, M.D. of Rothman Orthopaedics served as the Course Chairman. Joining him were Friedrich Boettner, M.D. of the Hospital for Special Surgery; Justin T. Deen, M.D. of the Florida Orthopaedic Institute; Christopher W. Grayson, M.D. of the Florida Orthopaedic Institute; and Richard G. Vlasak, M.D. of the University of Florida. These surgeons each brought not only deep clinical expertise, but a genuine willingness to share what they have learned across years of complex, high-volume practice. Their participation reflects a shared commitment to the next generation of orthopedic surgeons and the patients those surgeons will serve.

The Wasatch Course was structured around two parallel tracks of learning. The morning session focused on THA and the afternoon on TKA. Each track combined didactic presentations, panel discussions and cadaver labs, where emerging surgeons worked alongside faculty on hands-on technique. The course structure was designed to give emerging surgeons foundational knowledge and practical experience to enhance and develop their surgical technique. Emerging surgeons had the opportunity to practice both primary and revision techniques in a setting where questions are not just welcomed but expected.

Ortho Development is grateful to the faculty who gave their time and knowledge so generously, and to the emerging surgeons who showed up with the kind of curiosity and engagement that makes a course like this worth putting on. Surgeon education has always been central to our mission, and the Wasatch Course is a direct expression of that commitment by investing in the people who will spend their careers helping people do what they love by restoring mobility.

We look forward to continuing to build on this program in the years ahead.
