At Ortho Development, we do more than create exceptional orthopedic products. Our mission extends to making a positive impact on the lives of healthcare professionals, patients our employees, and the broader community. A key aspect of this commitment is our biannual medical mission program in partnership with One World Surgery, where we participate in life-changing healthcare efforts in underserved regions.
Ortho Development’s medical missions to Honduras focus on providing life-changing joint replacement surgeries. Our most recent mission resulted in 50 total knee replacement surgeries at the Holy Family Surgery Center. These missions are made possible by the combined efforts of our partners, including skilled surgeons, anesthesiologists and volunteers.
Through our work with healthcare professionals, volunteers and organizations like One World Surgery, we are able to improve healthcare access and outcomes on a global level. These partnerships allow us to extend our reach and provide critical medical care in underserved regions.
Since the launch of our medical mission program in 2017, we have completed eight missions to Honduras. Throughout these missions, we have successfully performed:
These surgeries have both alleviated pain and restored mobility for patients, giving them the opportunity to regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Our success is powered by the experience and dedication of more than 15 surgeons and countless healthcare professionals who generously donate their time, skills and resources. Together, we have created positive change by providing critical orthopedic care where it is needed most.
